I have thought a lot about how blogging could benefit my class. I am having a hard time since most of my students are not 100% comfortable with the computer and many of them do not write and read at a high level. So the only way I would be able to do a blog with Kindergarten students is if we did a class blog, were I would stand up in front of the class and use the laptop and LCD projector and expose the students to the concept of blogging.
I think I could keep things simple and we could try to write to other schools about things we are doing in the classroom and maybe they could write back. Just a thought. If anyone has any good ideas I would love to hear them.

Amanda,
I think you had a great idea. You could even have your students share what is going on in Kindergarten with fifth graders from your school. That way both grade levels would be exposed to safe blogging. Plus it would form bonds across grade levels.

You could also do a video blog with them. They would probably love being on the camera and talking, and seeing themselves after the fact would be great. The parents would probably like being able to see their students working in the classroom.
How about working directly with a class of older students. For instance, you could have the young students bring in their favorite Teddy Bear. The older students could help the younger ones with writing about their Bear and taking photos for posts. They could also help the younger ones to learn to blog faster because they could have one-on-one attention.
